Zincolivenite

Item Description

The finest specimens of Zincolivenite generally come from Tsumeb and are rarely in large specimens: this is a very good large display plate covered by a myriad of well formed crystals! Dozens upon dozens of lustrous, almost neon-green, nearly equant, orthorhombic, pseudo-isometric crystals of Zincolivenite crystals from 1 to 4 mm across that are in perfect condition. There are numerous, beautiful crystals of Zincolivenite on the backside of the piece too. An impressive, attractive cabinet piece of the species from Tsumeb! Ex. Dr. Eugene Sensel (purchased from the legendary Tsumeb dealer specialists Zwiebels in 1974 for $125!), to Marshall and Charlotte Sussman's collection, and then to Dr. Erika Pohl-Stroher. In fact, we sold this from the Sussman's basement in Chicago to Star Van Scriver, who then sold it to Dr. Pohl around 2005. It was in the cabinet sized display specimen collection of the Sussmans, long the main mineral feature of a visit to Chicago in the 1990s and early 2000s (until sold to us in 2005). Note at the time, this was labelled as Adamite variety Cuprian. Valued more like $2000-plus, today.
