Item Description

A lovely two-piece set of Zircons from the famous Eureka Tunnel in central Colorado. I'm told that these crystals are particularly useful to scientists in radio-isotope age-dating and are known to be over 1 BILLION years old! This set features a matrix specimen and a single crystal, both with pseudo-octahedral habits and notably sharp and lustrous faces. The color is a rich pinkish-brown and the crystals are mostly opaque for all intents and purposes. The largest crystal on the matrix specimen measures 7 mm and sits on Quartz matrix. Great quality for the material and the locality and certainly worth picking up for all you Colorado colllectors out there.
