Zircon occurs in a wide range of colors, and is very popular among collectors and jewelers for its high refractive index and durability. Most Zircon gems you'll see on the market average in the 1 to 2 carat range. This particular stone is a whopping 5.08 carats, which is very good sized for the material. It has a gorgeous honey-golden hue with nearly eye clean clarity and a wonderful "step oval" cut. Sometimes you will see this material marketed as "hyacinth", but its an archaic name and really shouldn't be applied to modern Zircons.
