Item Description

Here we a beautiful faceted Zircons from Tanzania. The stone has a lovely rosey-pink hue with a very slight golden-peach overtone, and a brilliant almost metallic quality. The clarity of the stone is excellent and has just breathtaking multi-color flash, which looks best in sunlight! The stone has a "Pear" cut, and when you look at it at a certain angle, you can see the classic birefringence (facet doubling) that Zircon displays in the photo. Zircon is becoming more and more popular among gem collectors and jewelers/gem dealers due to the fact that it occurs in a wide range of colors, plus it has a notably high refractive index and fire with good durability. It's important to note that Zircon is sometimes confused with Cubic Zirconia, which is a lab-grown Diamond simulant, whereas Zircon is a completely natural silicate mineral. This stone would make for an excellent pendant, and would look fabulous in white gold! This gem was cut by Brett Kosnar of Kosnar Gem Co., who is a 4-time AGTA Spectrum Award winning gem cutter. The high retail price on this stone is $600.00 Enjoy.
