Item Description

A rarely seen specimen of the old Zircons from the Steinbergskopf Quarry featuring a pair of sharp, lustrous, gemmy, rich orange-red colored crystals measuring up to 2.5 cm embedded in black basalt matrix. The crystals from this locality are often small, but the quality is excellent. If you're a fan of Zircons or German minerals, these specimens are virtually unseen on the market, so don't pass it up. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#2474). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
