Item Description

Here we a stunning and superb faceted Zircon gem from Tanzania. Zircons come in a wide range of colors, but pink stones are fairly hard to find on the market, and this gem has a wonderful deep rose hue, rarely seen in Zircon from any world locality. These fairly new Tanzanian stones can range from a light champagne color to a peach / orange hue, but the rarest and most desirable examples are these gorgeous pink gems. The stones have a brilliant almost metallic quality, which looks best in sunlight. The clarity is excellent as well as you don't see many Zircons this size with this kind of color that are "clean" like this one. This stone has a wonderful "Round Brilliant" cut, and you can see the classic birefringence (facet doubling) that Zircon displays in the photo. Zircon is becoming more and more popular among gem collectors and jewelers/gem dealers due to the fact that it occurs in a wide range of colors, plus it has a notably high refractive index and fire. It's important to note that Zircon is sometimes confused with Cubic Zirconia, which is a lab-grown Diamond simulant, whereas Zircon is a completely natural silicate mineral. This stone would make for a great center stone in a ring or a pendant, and will look fabulous in white gold!
