Item Description

Hyacinth is the yellow-red to red-brown gem variety of zircon. This famous French locale is renowned for river-tumbled, rounded alluvial zircon crystals with classic colors. The cork stoppered glass vial holds numerous beautiful zircon crystals to about 5 mm. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 7644 and acquired from Sol Shale in May, 1975. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record. A classic and fine zircon suite from this locality.
