Item Description

A cool and aesthetic intergrown cluster of gemmy, light grass-green zoisite crystals from the Alpine-type deposits at Alchuri. The very glassy, highly lustrous crystals look like tourmalines, but they're not! The piece displays nicely from either side and the feldspar at the base is a nice contrast. Ex Francesco Bedogne Colllection #2498. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector. Read his biography in the Mineralogical Record Biographical Archive: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=118. Alchuri zoisite specimens of this gemmy quality, richness and aesthetics are rare and this is an outstanding example.
