Item Description

A classic German Pyromorphite from Hofsgrund, featuring radial groups of a rich green colored crystals sitting on oxidized matrix. Good matrix specimen of green Pyromorphite from Germany are exceedingly hard to obtain these days. The largest group of Pyromorphite measures about 3 mm across, but they look beautiful under magnification, so we've photographed them with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate their quality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8722). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017). A great German classic from the famous locality. Valued at $400-$500.
