Orpiment (great color)

These gorgeous Russian Orpiments have of one of the brightest orange-red hues you will find in the mineral kingdom! They form in sparkly, ball-like clusters, which, observed closely, are actually extremely gemmy, euhedral crystals stacked closely together - of a higher quality, in fact, than even the famous Nevada orpiments - only smaller. Almost all of these have at least a few tiny bruises on them, but this one is in fine condition, and looks beautiful on the contrasting white Dolomite matrix.
