Item Description

In addition to the some of the world's best Garnets and Vesuvianite, the Jeffrey Mine in Canada can lay claim to some of the finest Pectolite crystals found. This well-formed cluster of bladed, prismatic Pectolite crystals have excellent form and are aesthetically sitting on Chrysotile matrix. The Pectolites are actually included with thin fibrous Chrysotile creating a beautiful chatoyant effect that is seen when the crystals are rotated in the light. Additionally the Pectolites have a distinctive greenish hue that is aided by the Chrysotile inclusions. Some of the crystals show textbook crystal form. This piece likely dates to the 1970s or early 1980s. A fine specimen for this famous mine. Ex Charlie Key personal collection. Charlie is arguably the most sucessful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite).
