SPECIAL MINERAL AUCTION - THE COLLECTION OF SENATOR, Dr. MIGUEL ROMERO - Ends * TUESDAY * June 6, 2017

Ends ** TUESDAY ** June 6th, 2017
at 6:30 PM (Central Time Zone)

For the next few months, we're going to be listing special themed auctions featuring specimens from a specific locality, collection, etc. We're going to do at least one special auction per month during the summer! The current theme auction features two full pages of specimens from the collection of the world-famous mineral collector, Senator and PhD Chemist, Miguel Romero Sanchez.

Dr. Romero assembled the finest collection of Mexican minerals, and minerals in general, ever put together in Mexico.

After his death, and ten years on loan and display to the University of Arizona for exhibition, the core collection was sold to The Arkenstone by the Romero family in 2007. Many other specimens, including a systematic suite, and lesser pieces, were donated to the Autonomous University of Mexico.

In closing out his private museum and offices in his home of Tehuacan, Mexico, it was found only recently that a shipping container of mixed specimens, both worldwide and Mexican in origin, had been put together for possible donation or sale but never sent to its destination. We are pleased now to present much of that surprise trove to you, including rare historic and Mexican specimens, in our auctions as a special offering

PLEASE NOTE:This auction closes on a TUESDAY night, not our normal Thursday schedule, and we'll send out a reminder / announcement before it closes to you don't miss out.
