A shocking and intense blue color makes this azurite pinwheel cluster leap out to the eye! Lustrous, violet-colored Azurite crystals form a very showy, two-sided disk from this less well-known Moroccan locality. Both sides of the rosette have elements of complex, radial growth, and to be able to display it from either side is a major bonus. The surfaces of the crystals vary from smooth to drusy, with this variable texture highlighting the attractive color while adding a dramatic amount of visual appeal. Sculptural and nicely defined, this is an interesting and aesthetic small-cabinet piece that is quality, uncommon material in this style from older finds here (1980s or before).
