Citrine (good sized stone)

A good sized Citrine gem with a beautiful "Portuguese Oval" cut from Brazil. Citrine is well-known among gem dealers, collectors and jewelry enthusiasts, but the majority of the material on the market has been heated to create the yellow color. Most of the commercial Citrine gems you'll find on the market started out as Amethyst and have been heated to turn them yellow. That is the case with this stone, but it's a very eye-catching gem with saturated color, and would make for a superb center stone in a piece of jewelry.
