Item Description

A classic specimen of the desirable and fine quality Cuprites from Tsumeb. This piece is loaded with very sharp, fairly lustrous, well-formed, octahedral crystals of Cuprite that show incredible deep red color when backlit! The main crystal at the top of the specimen is pristine and show the best color and gemminess. Very little damage overall, and there are even some good Cuprites on the back of the piece as well. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6655). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
