Item Description

An eye-catching specimen from the Xianghualing Mine featuring good sized, sharp, well-formed, gemmy, "misty" green colored octahedra of Fluorite on a very thin layer of matrix. This is early material from this noteworthy Fluorite producer, probably coming out in the mid to late 1990s. The largest crystal measures 3.5 cm, and for the most part, there is very little damage on the display side, though not completely perfect. The crystals have a soft almost "drusy" yet gelatinous luster which is unusual for the material. If you collect Fluorites or minerals of China, don't miss out on this attractive piece from this prodigious specimen producing locality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12553). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
