Fluorite on Barite (ex Paul Zerfass Collection)

Item Description

A beautiful example of the classic Fluorites from Berbes, Spain. This piece features a few sharp, well-formed, rich purple cubes (one showing distinct octahedral modifications) sitting atop bladed cream colored Barite matrix. The largest Fluorite measures 6 mm on edge, but it is contacted, so please keep that in mind when bidding. From the collection of the long time, beloved, well-known French field collector, Paul Zerfass (Collection #363). Zerfass built this worldwide collection over nearly 50 years, many of which were personally collected. A biography featuring specimens from his collection (along with his face on the cover) is in the May - June 2017 issue of French mineral magazine, Le Regne Mineral.
