Item Description

A classic association specimen of mint green colored Malachite partically coating pyramidal iron-stained Quartz crystals from the well-known Clara Mine. I've looked for a similar spaces on mineral website databases, and I can't find a piece like this one with the preferential coating of Malachite on Quartz, so it is more than likely from a very limited find! A great piece to add to a German collection, a secondary mineral collection or a suite of German classics. The largest Quartz crystal measures 5 mm. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5441). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017). A great German classic from the famous locality. Valued at around $800.
