Item Description

A fantastic, thick, stout, doubly-termianted, GEMMY colorless Quartz crystal is dotted by gemmy, soft blue-green Fluorite cubes with minor dodecahedral modifications. The Quartz is WATER CLEAR in areas, and the piece is nearly a complete "floater" with only a tiny point of attachment that I can see. It's BETTER in person, and was not easy to convey the quality in the photos. A great piece for a Quartz collector or anybody who collects Chinese minerals. Valued at $1,400. Ex Dr. Steven Smale Collection. Along with amassing one of the finest private mineral collections in the world, Steve is a renowned mathematician. His accomplishments include being awarded the Fields Medal in 1966 along with being the awarded the Wolf Prize in mathematics in 2007. You can read Steve's bio on the Mineralogical Record website ( https://mineralogicalrecord.com/labels.asp?colid=671&page=1 ) or on Wikipedia.
