Lovingly referred to as "Cactus Quartz", this fine small-cabinet piece is from the family of specimens from the Boekenhoutshoek area in Africa from finds circa 2000. A lovely purple with extra-rich zones along the terminations, the stand-out features are the fields of Amethyst crystals that girdle the scepters. Scintillating, they add volumes of sparkle and beauty with their high luster and razor-sharp form. These crystals even have delicate wisps of Smoky Quartz, which add a great deal of visual interest and texture. This aesthetic specimen displays well in all directions, with the central Quartz crystals reaching about 3.5 cm. Erroneously marketed as being from the Magaliesberg Range, these Boekenhoutshoek pieces are instantly recognizable with their absolutely unique and exotic form.
