This is a very fine and unusually robust style variation on the beloved "Cactus Quartz" specimens from the Boekenhoutshoek area in Africa. Rather than being fully-developed, upright scepters, these Amethysts remain as beautiful, wide, crystals that are basically the terminations of what have been the scepters. Outstanding crystals in their own right, they are gemmy and highly lustrous with deep purple zones that that accent the glassy terminations.. They rest on a matrix of similar and smaller Amethysts, providing a very nice complement to the larger crystals. With the largest crystal 3.2 x 2.9 cm, this highly aesthetic specimen displays well in all directions. Erroneously marketed as being from the Magaliesberg Range, these Boekenhoutshoek pieces are instantly recognizable with their unique and exotic form. These crystals are larger and fatter than most.
