Item Description

A wonderfully sharp and well-formed dodecahedron of the famous "rainbow" Andradite Garnets from the famous Kohse Mine. At first glance, these crystals appear to have some kind of artificial coating, but it turns out that the brilliant iridescence is 100% natural! There are actually a few places in the world where rainbow Andradite is found. The colors exhibited can range from warm reds, oranges and pinks to cool blues and greens. These crystals are rare on the market now, even though they were fairly easy to get a decade ago. This particular crystal is notably sharp with very smooth faces and iridescent metallic flashes of the surface of the faces. The piece is not 100% complete all the way around, but it's virtually damage free on the display side and a very attractive representative single crystal of this rare material. If you're a Garnet collector, you should have one of these in your collection. They're so beautiful and unique for a commonly known species. It should be noted that the locality is completely off limits to collectors, and NO MORE specimens will be coming to the market, so if you want one of these crystals, don't miss out on this opportunity, because they will just become harder to get as the years go on.
