Outstanding combination piece from the famous N'Chwaning Mines in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa with a shockingly isolated single sharp crystal the likes of which we almost never see from here! The featured Rhodo is a sharp, gemmy, nearly doubly-terminated scalenohedron that displays perfectly in a pocket of drusy Manganite. 1.7 cm tip-to-tip, the Rhodo has slightly silky and gently striated faces that give the crystal body and texture that immediately attracts the eye, yet still allows a complete appreciation of the excellent color and gemminess. This miniature creates the perfect display for this treasured species. Old material from the late 1970s, as it is "only" #29122 in the collection.
