Item Description

These specimens started showing up on the market in the early 2000s and quickly disappeared. They are unique in their form / style and are easy to recognize due to the iridescent "sheen" they often exhibit on the surface. This piece is an elegant, large, showy "sheet" of Native Silver with a metallic peacock colored iridescence on the surface due to the presence of Bornite. The piece is complete all around and looks good from either side. Weight is 123.5 grams. This is definitely a "sheet" of Silver, it can hardly be called a leaf, as that suggests fragility - and this is a thick and sturdy specimen, not the least bit fragile. Pieces of this size and quality are certainly hard to find these days, so if you collect native metals or minerals of Mexico, don't miss out.
