Item Description

A beautiful and fine quality example of these classic and elusive pseudomorphs from the famous Searles Lake locality in Southern California. The piece is comprised of excellent, well-formed, prismatic crystals of a chalky white color with smooth faces and beautiful arrangement. A little roughness can be seen, but it's still a showy and very worthwhile example of these wonderful pseudomorphs. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
