Item Description

From a discovery in 2021, here we have a lovely example of this uncommon material. Most people probably don't consider Morocco a country that produces Tourmaline, but the contemporary finds at Beni Bouzra have yielded some truly fine quality, eye-catching and colorful specimens in recent years. This particular piece features a predominant, 2.8 cm, gemmy/translucent, lustrous deep pinkish-red (Rubellite) colored prismatic crystal (with a slight "feather"-like appearance on the terminations) aesthetically flaring out of with chalky white Albite, blue-grey Microcline and translucent Smoky Quartz crystals. A smaller incomplete crystal at the base shows a thin pink "rind" on the exterior, and a rarely seen yellow color in the center. The smaller Tourmalines are broken, but the main crystal is in fine shape. Please note that there is one clean repair on the specimen, but you wouldn't probably notice unless you were aware of it. A lovely example of these beautiful and distinctive Tourmalines from this unlikely locale in Morocco. Valued $1,250.
